FILIPINOS: CRAB MENTALITY

"IF I CAN'T HAVE IT, NEITHER CAN YOU." This message is the one I want to share with this blog of mine. Maybe you’ve heard about it, or maybe not.

First, what is crab mentality? It is a popular phrase here in the Philippines. The concept refers to an interesting phenomenon which occurs in a bucket of live crabs; if one crab attempts to escape other crabs will put it back down rather than allowing it to get free.
In reality, it is the same to people who don’t want to see others to be successful. They will do whatever it takes to pull you down; especially when they know that you have the potential to pursue and achieve your dreams. It is caused by jealousy, conspiracy or competitive feelings. People with crab mentality may try to discourage you every way they can, with anger, verbal attacks, talking behind your back, spreading false information just to ruin your reputation, etc., so that you will lose your confidence and to stop pursuing your dreams.
Now, you know that crab people always wants to be the best not others, to deal with this people, you have to understand that we cannot avoid this kind of people for they are everywhere. So, learn the following things:
·         Recognize the crabs around you, accept the reality whoever they are. Don’t waste your time trying to change them. Focus on your success and not to their negativities.
·         Don’t share your plans, success stories and things like that with crab people.
·         Keep fighting, don’t let anyone discourage you. Don’t lose your confidence and stay strong, if you want to get on the top keep fighting.

Discover You. Finding your passion, life purpose and take action.

You simply know who you are, but sometimes you will feel that there is something missing piece of puzzle to complete yourself. And you would keep asking, “What is it?”, “Where I can find the missing piece?”, “When will I find that? I need the answer as soon as possible.”, and lastly “How can I put that missing piece to complete me once I found it?” Do you already know what that missing piece is? It is your passion, that special thing that would simply complete yourself. Once you know it, you will understand your purpose in life. And last you will do all the actions you needed just to pursue your passion. And that’s how passion will complete your life.
Whatever it is, if it’s still just a shadow in the distant fog that you can’t quite yet figure out, there are a few things you can do to persuade your special thing into the sunshine.
·         Learn to say no for the purpose of freeing up energy for your special thing
·         Surround yourself with mentors who understand the things you’re drawn to
·         Know what you already know what’s right for you, because you do
·         Once you’ve discovered your special thing, embrace it.
For me, I already found my passion. I found it while I’m dreaming of how I want myself to be. Before I really want to be a teacher, so my first passion was teaching. But, it changes while I’m taking college. I used to enjoy my multimedia subject, where I fall in love with photography, though we just had a short background about it. And I also experienced to be a photographer model for photo shoots and from those lessons and experiences my dream to become a photographer formed. I started to embrace photography as my passion. Then as the year opened, an opportunity knocked on me. One of my photographers before offered a training to me. Of course I grabbed it and I am now one of her back up photographers! And our first project just well did last week. It was a wedding event; it was so awesome experience to a first timer like me. I really had a great first experience. I’m looking forward for more projects.
Now, I had discovered myself. I found my passion, life purpose and I will take every action little by little to pursue it while I’m living. I hope this blog of mine will inspire you to discover yourself too. Always remember that no one is your boss in achieving your own dreams, don’t let the opportunities pass away and if you’re already holding your success keep your feet on ground. Thank you for reading my blog. Good luck.
